Helen Ann (Meme) Havlik, 83, of Crane, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 at The Hospice House in Odessa, TX. Ann was born on June 4, 1929 in San Angelo, Texas to Ted and Ruth Waterhouse. Ann married Charlie McFadden on February 28, 1953 in Lovington, NM. She was a dedicated mother and housewife.
Ann is preceded in death by both of her parents, Ted and Ruth Waterhouse, brothers, Roy Waterhouse DDS, and Gerald Waterhouse; and her son Ray McFadden.
Survivors include: her son, Clay McFadden and wife, Nina of Odessa, TX; her daughter, Julie Hardcastle and husband Sam of Crane, TX. She is survived by her grandchildren: Cody McFadden and wife, Amber of Odessa, TX; Carter McFadden of Weatherford, TX; Austin Hardcastle of Crane, TX; Charlie Ann Hardcastle of Crane, TX. As well as her great-grandchildren: Cayden McFadden, Cambryn McFadden, Sidny Hardcastle, Brylee Hardcastle, Kylah Gonzales and Londyn Gonzales. Ann is also survived by two brothers, Van Waterhouse and his wife Ann of San Angelo, TX, Donnie Waterhouse and his wife Donna of Columbia, SC; sister-in-law, Polly Waterhouse of San Angelo, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was employed by Levi Strauss & Co. in San Angelo, TX from 1970-1983 during her employment she was the Personnel Manager. She was an active member of the community, serving on the Board of Directors of: Tom Green County United Way, San Angelo Day Nursery, Concho Valley Council of Governments Advisory Council and San Angelo City Planning Commission. She was also a member of the American Society for Personnel Administration for 10 years. She volunteered for the Crane County 4-H as a sewing instructor and was a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha from 1962-1968.
Meme loved hunting, fishing and camping at the lake with friends and family. She was an avid Texas Ranger and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home, 1503 S. Gaston Crane, TX.
