Gregory Mendoza

Gregory Mendoza, 83, of Iraan passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 at his home in Iraan.
Rosary will be said at 7pm on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Iraan Civic Center. Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Iraan Civic Center with Father Rodney White officiating. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Gregory was born on July 26, 1928 in Gatesville, Texas to Doroteo and Maria Salazar Mendoza. In October of 1950, he married the love of his life, Ermila Gonzales. Gregory retired from Iraan Sheffield ISD as a custodian after 18 years of service. He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and helped build the current church building.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant sons; three brothers; and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Ermila G. Mendoza of Iraan; his children, Mary Gomez of Iraan, Ofelia Baeza of San Angelo, Gregory Mendoza Jr. of Crane, Juanita Leffler of Iraan, Catarina Taylor of Arlington, and Jessica Mendoza of Crane; two sisters, Dolores Tucker of Midland, and Mary Flores of Sheffield; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
