Glyn Myers, 87, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012 at the Lamun Lusk Sanchez Veterans Home in Big Spring.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane with Reverend Murray Sauders officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
Glyn was born on July 7, 1924 to the union of the late James and Ellie Myers in Goulbusk, Texas. He was one of fourteen children. Eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Glyn received his early education in the public school of Goulbusk, Texas. Glyn was a WWII Vet who served in the United States Navy. He married Irene Isabell Keck Myers in 1942 and to this union four children was born who they raised in Crane, Texas. He started the Big 4 Body Shop in Crane where he worked until moved to Austin, Texas in 1970.
His wife Irene Keck Myers and three children Billy Ray Myers, Glynda Myers Taylor and Sharon Myers preceded him in death. He married Betty Myers in 1971 that preceded him in death. He moved to McCamey, Texas in 2006 where he lived with his son-in-law Charles Taylor until his passing.
Glyn leaves to mourn his home going: A daughter Doris Myers Tarpley of Crane, Texas; three sisters Dovie Myers Garrett of Coleman, Texas; Helen Lee Myers of Blanco, Texas and Doris Evelyn Lafferty of Conroe, Texas; 34 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren and 14 Great Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, Great Nieces and Nephews and other Relatives and Friends.
