FLORINDA V. ZARATE
McCAMEY: Florinda V. Zarate, 57 of McCamey, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey with Father Thomas Manimala officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Mrs. Zarate was born on September 1, 1951 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Herminjildo and Ofelia Bolanos Velasquez. She had lived in McCamey since 1958; and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her father, H. A. Velasquez; and two brothers, Albertano Velasquez and Robert Velasquez.
She is survived by her husband, Rojelio "Roy" Zarate of McCamey; two daughters, Amanda Zarate of San Antonio and Adelaida Lopez of Midland; her mother, Ofelia Velasquez of McCamey; two brothers, Ernest Velasquez and Oscar Velasquez both of Crane; three sisters, Lydia Tovar of Crane, Rosaelva Villegas of Odessa, and Eva Marquez of Midland; and 5 grandchildren.
