Faye Marie "Nanny Ree" Nobles

Faye Marie Nobles, "Nanny Ree", 89, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, stepped into the waiting arms of her savior on May 10, 2013. Marie was born to her parents Robert and Lillian Smith on October 29, 1923, in Mt. Enterprise, Texas.

A celebration service of Marie's life will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in McCamey, Texas with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Marie was a committed Christian and devoted homemaker. Her love for the Lord was evident to all who knew her as she unselfishly gave of her time to help others. She found her greatest fulfillment, however in her children and grandchildren. Her quiet courage and faith shone like a beacon to them. Upon them she poured her unconditional love and daily asked the Lord to guide and protect them. She was a fabulous cook, and always had your favorite food prepared when you came for a visit. She took all the time needed to nurture our issues, broken hearts, and spirits and was always there when we needed her. Marie was tender hearted, full of mercy and a gift to all who knew her. We'll never forget the traditions she handed down and the things she stood for. They were her gifts and our legacy.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and her husband of 61 years, Nick Nobles; and a beloved son, Bobby Nobles.

Left to miss her are her daughters, Carolynd Winfield Roberts and her husband Delbert of San Angelo and Junction, Nell Anderson and her husband Henry of Crane; and one son, Mike Nobles and his wife Angelina of San Angelo; and a chosen daughter, Heidi Pack of Merkel. Seven precious grandchildren, Ray Winfield and his wife Shannon, Denise Palmer, Sterling Winfield and his wife Leah, Debbie Rowland and her husband Jay, Shawnette Gutierrez and her husband Gabe, Jennifer Dillard and her husband Corbie, Ashley Sanchez and her husband Daniel; and 10 great grandchildren. Also she is survived by a dear extended family, Marvin and L'Jean King of McCamey.
