Esteban ”Steve” Aguirre, 79 years of age gained his angel wings on July 30, 2024 in Crane, Texas surrounded by family. Steve was born in Candelaria, Texas on September 2, 1944 to Julian and Isabel Hinojos. He was the oldest of six children
Steve spent much of his lifetime as a truck driver. He loved this profession and worked for various companies over the years. He also had a love for Nascar and enjoyed race days in front of his TV. When his grandsons were in school, he also enjoyed traveling with his wife to watch them in their sports. He also loved to visit his children and grandchildren in California. Steve was never at a loss of an opinion and enjoyed talking about his family and his job.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, sons Chris Aguirre and Wayne Aguirre, and brothers Tony and Danny Aguirre.
He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Aguirre. Children Mary Robledo (Sal), Beatrice Aguirre, Sunday Oseguedo (Ruben), Gina Helton (Michael), Steven Aguirre Jr., Shelley Garcia (Alonzo), Todd Aguirre and Bonus daughter Kim Garcia (Sal) and Bonus son David Johansen.
Grandchildren Joseph Aguirre, Delia Pozos (Placido), Ellie Luna (Anthony), Arthur Luna Jr., Matthew Luna (Jennifer), Salvador Robledo (Katie), Jessica Miller (Chris), Amy Ullman (Joe), Aleta Aguirre, Isaiah Aguirre, Priscilla Martinez, Joey Reyes Miguel, Jesus Martinez, Tyler Helton (Glaiza), Jacob Helton (Tiffany), Andrew Helton, Alonzo Garcia Jr. (Perla), Chris Garcia, Patrick Garcia (Yenny). Bonus grandchildren Eric Johansen and Victoria Johansen.
Also surviving are Brother Frank Aguirre, Sisters Jenny Bishop and Anjelita Clark, Brother-in-Law Tom Holland (Anna), as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel from 3pm until 8pm. Rosary will be said at 7pm in chapel on Thursday. Funeral mass will be on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11am with burial to follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Alonzo Garcia Jr., Chris Garcia, Patrick Garcia, JR Garcia, Derek Garcia, Robert Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Alonzo Skyler Garcia and Trevor Garcia.
