Elida Barrandey, 56, of McCamey, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, in Midland.
Elida was born on October 13, 1964, in Crane, Texas to Jose T. and Guadalupe Abalos Barrandey.
Elida enjoyed life and loved making others laugh. Her favorite things were playing poker and loteria with family. However, watching the Dallas Cowboys was a must. Win or lose, she was their biggest fan. Elida enjoyed crocheting and collecting Coca Cola and football memorabilia. She also loved watching game shows and listening to music.
Elida was preceded in death by her mother, Lupe A. Barrandey and her nephew, Trent L. Barrandey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Jose T. Barrandey of McCamey; her siblings, sister, Elisa Jo A. Barrandey of McCamey, brother, Miley A. Barrandey and his wife Terri of Midland, and sister, Elsa A. Barrandey of Midland; nieces, Chelsea Barrandey (Cody), Tori Sanchez (Abel), and Kayla Alonzo (Adrian); nephew, Tyler Barrandey; five great nieces, and one great nephew; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in McCamey. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tyler Barrandey, Abel Sanchez, Adrian Alonzo, Cody Aguilar, Fred Watson, and Lionel Baiza. Honorary pallbearer will be Adriel Alonzo.
Due to the current health situation, the Catholic Church is only allowing 50 to attend the Mass. We ask that you allow family this time and friends join them at the graveside following the church services.
