Earnest âSparkieâ Sparks, 70, passed away Thursday, June 22nd, 2017 at the Crane Memorial Hospital in Crane, Texas following a sudden illness.
He was born in Tazewell, Virginia, son of the late Ernest and Myrtle Lane Sparks. He made his home in Crane, Texas and was a former area manager of Nabors. He was also a veteran of the Vietnam War as well as a Mason. He spent his retired years picking up pecans, taking care of his chickens and spoiling his two dogs, Missy and Sister. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchild and many others close to his heart.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Carlos âCorkyâ Sparks, Troy Sparks and Ricky Sparks.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Jeannie Sparks; his three sons, Earnest (Sammy) Sparks and his wife, Angie of Memphis, Tennessee, Stanley Sparks and his wife, Dana of Fort Stockton, Texas, Troy Sparks and his wife, Melissa of Iraan, Texas, Bobby Smith and his wife Celeste; his daughter, Suzie Sparks of Odessa, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; Sophie McVay, Autumn Sparks, Stanley (Pokie) Sparks, Samuel Sparks, Isaac Sparks, Missy Sparks, Jonathan Focha, Jaeden Focha, Tj Sparks, Gracie Sparks, Ty Sparks, Krista Sparks, Storme Sparks and Ollie Smith; and one great grandchild, Samantha Lovell. He also leaves behind brothers and sisters; Martha "Polly" Coleman of Thompson Valley, Virginia, Clyde Ed Sparks and Millie of Newbern Virginia , Robert Sparks and Donna of Nicklesville, Virginia, Roy Sparks and Judy of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Danny Sparks of Cedar Bluff, and Teresa Hess and Rusty of Cedar Bluff, Virginia.
