Earl Crawford (1928 - 2009)
CRANE: Earl Crawford, 81 of Crane, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the Crane Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on, Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Petree officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Crawford, Bruce Crawford, Ronnie Warren, Dustin Crawford, Yancey Loyless, Robert Blackman, James Blackman, Fuzz Hudman and Keith Whiddon.
There will be a family visitation Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Earl was born on Aug. 19, 1928, in Cross Plains, Texas. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Air Force. He married Charlene Blackwell on Oct. 9, 1954, in McCamey, Texas. He was a retired pumper and had lived in Crane since 1965. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lelia Crawford; his daughter, Susan Kay Crawford; and two brothers; and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Crawford of Crane; two sons, Joe Earl Crawford and his wife Judy of Crane, and Kenneth Charles Crawford and his wife Kim of Centerville, Texas; six grand-children, Joshua Crawford of Odessa, Susan Loyless and Bruce Crawford both of Crane, Ronnie Warren of Fairfield, Texas, Dustin Crawford of Palestine, Texas, and Amy Crawford of Centerville, Texas; and three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Crawford and Jack Crawford, both of Odessa, and Anna Loyless of Crane.
