Earl Compton passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at his home in Rankin, TX at the early age of 80.
Earl was born on December 11, 1941, in Eloy, AZ. He eventually ended up in El Paso, Texas where he met his true love Laurene. They married in 1963 and they have been beside each other until the very end. Laurene passed in 2011 and we know Earl is now with Laurene for everlasting eternity; true love never ends.
Survivors of his family include his son William Earl Compton & daughter in law Melissa Compton of Allen, TX, son Keith Edward Compton & daughter in law Rebecca Compton of Grand Island, NE; Brother Jim Compton of Fairfield, TX; Grandchildren Alex Donnelly of Lindale, TX, Brandy Livsey of Texarkana, TX, Billy Compton Jr of Plano, TX, John Derek Compton of Alba, TX, Summer Compton of Allen, TX; many great grandchildren, daughter in laws, nieces and nephews, sister in laws, brother in laws, extended family and so many friends and acquaintances.
Earl was well loved everywhere he went and by everyone he met. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and so much more. He leaves a legacy behind that is unmatched but will be an example to all. He was a true diamond in a zirconia world and has left some big shoes to fill.
Viewing will be held at the First Baptist Church in Rankin on Friday, March 25, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church at 11:00am on Saturday, March 26, 2022, with Reverend James Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Rankin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Crane.
