Dorothy Keeney, loving wife, Momma, and Dody, 74, of Crane, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, January 25, 2019.
Dorothy was born on February 6, 1944, in Crane and had lived in Crane most all her life. She married John L. Keeney, Jr. on June 17, 1966, in Las Cruces, NM. Dorothy was a homemaker, and a Christian. She loved painting, fishing, and hunting. Dorothy loved all types of birds, ceramics, and her precious dogs, Miss Hattie and Bean Dip.
Dorothyâs family was most important to her. She adored her husband, kids and grandkids and treasured the time she spent with them.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Elizabeth Edwards; two sisters, Frankie Sue Hall and Linda Green.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, J.L. Keeney, Jr. of Crane; son, Monty Keeney and his wife Misty of San Angelo; daughter, Amber Montoya and her husband Joe of McCamey; five grandchildren, Nikki, Cortney, Nic, Mason, and Myles; three great grandchildren, Aubri, Hayli, and Landri; one sister, Pat Self of Fair Oaks, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend David Evans officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
