DONNA SUE PAHL
CRANE: Donna Sue Pahl, 74 of Crane, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at her home in Crane.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Crane County Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Donna was born on September 23, 1936 in Monument, NM. She married Ray O. Pahl on January 27, 1957 in Sundown, Texas. She moved to Crane in 1964 and was a member of the Church of Christ. Donna had served as a secretary for the Crane Chamber of Commerce; as well as for Tubco Steel, and National Foundry. She was a volunteer for the Crane Little League Association, and was noted for the organization of the first Crane Sports Banquet. Donna was able to obtain some well known sports figures as quest speakers for these banquets, such as Jethro Pugh of the Dallas Cowboys, Paul Hornung of the Green Bay Packers, as well as other noted players. Donna loved to oil paint, and write poems; and she decorated cakes for the public.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Elzie Lee Roy Watson and Lillie Mae Quinsey Watson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray O. Pahl who passed away on August 16, 2009.
She is survived by her son, Mark Pahl and his wife Sheila of Crane; three grandchildren, Machele Pahl of Crane, Tana Perry and her husband Jeremy of Midland, and Derrick Pahl of Crane; her great granddaughter, Reese Perry of Midland; two brothers, Ed Watson and his wife Carol of Bergheim, TX, and Gary Watson of Del Rio, TX; her sister-in-law, Shirley E. Pahl of Novato, CA; nieces, Robin Schwartz and her husband Jeff of Tucson, AZ, and Donna Ann Watson Edwards and her husband Dennis of Odessa; nephews, Walter Watson of Crane, and Roy Watson and his wife Amy of Lockhart, TX.
