Don Harlan Boothe, 78, of Crane, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at the Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Funeral services were held at 10am on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Crane with Reverend Tommy Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Crane County Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brent Lee, Ethan Lee, Mike Phillips, Jim Crain, Bill Teague, and Jack Damron.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Don was born on August 24, 1935, in Wink, Texas. He was a veteran, having served in the Army. He was a retired machinist for Arco. Don lived in Crane most of life. He loved to "spit and widdle". Don enjoyed his time drinking coffee at the Dairy Queen with his friends. He loved to travel, pulling his RV and seeing the county. Don was faithful in reading his bible, and he was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Crane.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Buell and Mary Prince Boothe; his son, Art Blane Boothe; a brother, Art Brenton Boothe; and his sister, Chloe Rudene Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Boothe of Crane; two sons, Timothy Owen Boothe and his wife Donna of San Antonio, Wesley Harlan Boothe and his wife Nancy of Anadarko, OK; a daughter, Angela Gay Turner and her husband Lee of League City; 6 grandchildren, Randi Rhea Land, Ryan Daniel Dean, Andrea Boothe, Christopher Boothe, Stephen Boothe, and Jamie Boothe; 3 great grandchildren Damian Zimmerman, Athena Land, and McKenzie Land; two nephews Tim Lee and his Pam of Crane, David Allen and his wife Karla of Montgomery, TX; three nieces Janina Petty and her husband Bill, Jeannie Davis and her husband Mike, both of Montgomery, TX and Tanya Burwick and her husband Glenn of Blackwell TX; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
