Danny Lee Plummer

August 27, 1946 — August 7, 2013

Danny Lee Plummer was born August 27, 1946, to Marshall John "Mutt" Plummer and Iva Lee Plummer. On August 7, 2013, Danny left us to join his beloved father Mutt and son Robby in Heaven.

Danny was raised in Crane and graduated from Crane High School in 1966. Shortly thereafter, he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in several places and did a tour in Vietnam. In 1969, he was discharged with honors as a Sergeant with the Air Force.
Danny was a man who loved his family and his country. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Danny love to spend time out in the open skies going fishing and hunting, he wanted to share these experiences with his sons and family. But Danny had many sides to him and many occupations. First he was a loving husband who supported a woman that loved him unconditionally; he also was a loving and devoted son who took care of his mom. He was a true dad and Grand pa to the end to his children and grandchildren.

Danny had worked for Stone's Home Center for many years. He was a contractor, a plumber, a builder, oilman, and a true comedian. He never met a stranger and would help anyone in need. There was not much he couldn't do or wouldn't do for someone. Those of us that knew him as Dan, Paw pa, Papa Smurf, or Shorty, we will miss the man we called a true friend.

Danny is survived by his wife Dedra Plummer of Crane; his mother, Iva Plummer of Crane; and his sister Marsha Griffin and husband Gene of Granbury Texas. Danny had four children, Corbie and Mikie Dillard, Robby (deceased), and Micheal Schwarz; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Marshall John "Mutt" Plummer and son Robby Schwarz.

The family will be receiving friends at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home in Crane from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday.
Services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Crane at 10:00am on Monday August 12, 2013, with Tommy Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery.
Danny will have military honor provided by the VFW Post 4372 out of Odessa.
