Claudette Caroline McKenzie went to be with the Lord and reunited with family Monday morning, November 25th, 2024. She was born to Harvey Woodrow Glosser Sr and Winnifred Elena Wolfe in Salem, Illinois on February 13th, 1940. The Glosser Family moved to Texas where Claudette met the “Love of Her Life” Morris “Mack” McKenzie Sr. They married January 24th, 1961 and raised their large family in Rankin, Texas.
“Dette” was a sweet, loving, sassy woman who never met a stranger and always enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She loved her life with Mack and was the best “parts runner” during the lengthy tenure of McKenzie Motor Company. For over 16 years, Claudette diligently fulfilled her position as the wife of the County Commissioner by attending Mack’s social gatherings and leading the family while delegating to them, tasks during his many campaigns.
“Meme” was an avid reader and always had a book in her hand or in her twenty pound purse! She had many talents and hobbies including painting. She painted on anything from canvas, to glass, pottery, and even clothing. Claudette had a green thumb as well and it wasn’t out of the ordinary to pull over onto the side of the road to get a “start” of something to take back home and plant. Claudette was a beautiful woman who always had on her eyebrows and covergirl face as well as her hair fixed, jewelry on, and spritz or three of perfume!
Claudette is survived by her children; Morris McKenzie Jr of Rankin, Wayne McKenzie of Rankin ,Mark McKenzie and wife Kathy of Rankin, Sheliah Blair of Rankin, and Robin Bennett and husband Mark of Odessa as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by Sisters Rebecca Walden of Weatherford, Brenda Hallford and husband Mike of Minerals Wells, Jeanette Doran of Kermit, and brothers Skip Glosser of Rankin and Ross Glosser of Rankin.
