Charley Alfred Hyche

March 22, 1950 — July 5, 2013

Charley Alfred "Peepaw" Hyche, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, has passed from this life for more adventures. He was very active in his community and being a fire fighter was his passion. He had been on the Crane Fire Department for 37 years and an instructor at Midland College as well as at Texas A & M fire school. He was also a strong supporter of the Crane 4-H even after his two children were out of 4-H. He loved working with kids and teaching them about their animals. He was so proud of his children and his five very special grandchildren.

He served on the Crane Water Board, Hospital Board, and Past President of Firefighters Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Ellis "Shine" and Leona Hyche.

He is survived by his wife, Vanetta Hyche; his children, Eric Hyche and his wife Kristin of Norfolk Virginia, and Kelli Tredaway and her husband Cody of Big Spring; five grandchildren, Dylan and Averi Tredaway, and J.T., Amy, and Sydney Hyche; his sister, Betty Sue Hyche of Crane; his uncle, Frank Robinson of Ranger; and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Crane. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Crane VFD in Memory of Charley.
