Charles Milton Blackwell

Charles Milton Blackwell was born April 28, 1931 in Santa Anna, Texas and passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014 in San Angelo, Texas. Visitation will be all day Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Shaffer-Nichols Chapel in Iraan. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014 in Restland Cemetery in Iraan, Texas. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Nichols Funeral Home.
Charles lived in Whon, Texas until the age of thirteen when his family moved to Iraan, Texas where he graduated high school in 1948. He was a long time resident of Iraan, Texas and moved to San Angelo, Texas in February 2014.
He held various positions in the oilfield before going to work for Amoco and retiring after twenty years as field foreman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years Bettie Jo Blackwell on September 25, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents Monroe Milton Blackwell and Alta Milford Featherston.
Charles is survived by one son, Don Michael Blackwell of Lubbock, Texas; one daughter, Nona Harris of San Angelo, Texas and one sister, Charlene Crawford of Crane, Texas. He had four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
