Cathy Lou Byrd

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce Cathy Lou Byrd went to rest peacefully with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2024.

 She was born on August 5, 1962, in Dimmit, TX to Jackie and Colleen Byrd. Cathy graduated from Crane High School class of 1980. She was an award-winning woodworker leading her to be “the fixer of all things” later in life. She was an accomplished business woman in the oilfield. Cathy was passionate about everything she did, her love was woodworking, crafting, sewing, and coin collecting. Her favorite place to be was on the beach with her toes in the water and her ass in the sand. She had such a passion for the small things in life, sunrises, sunsets, butterflies, and flowers. 

 Cathy had love for the beautiful small things in life, but nothing compared to the love she had for being Memaw. Cathy is survived by her two daughters, Starla and Crystal; her three grandbabies-Gracelynn, Riley, and Landon; her mom and stepdad, Colleen and J.D.; and her two sisters Christy and Brandi.

 She was a ray of sunshine in every life she touched.

Graveside services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Crane County Cemetery.  A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the Crane Seniors Citizens building at 706 W. 6th Street in Crane.
