Catalina Juarez Gonzalez, 92, of McCamey, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013, at the McCamey Convalescent Center.
Funeral services were held at 3pm on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Primera Iglesia Baptista in McCamey with Reverends Reymundo Almaraz, and Daniel Hernandez officiating. Burial followed in the Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey with arrangements under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Catalina was born on November 25, 1921, in Crystal City, Texas. She was a homemaker. She married Raymundo Gonzalez in 1957. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2010, and she was the last of her siblings. Catalina was a longtime resident of McCamey, living here for 32 years. She served as treasurer for the Hispanic Assembly of God in Archibald, Ohio, and for the Primera Iglesia Bapista in McCamey. Catalina loved the Lord, which was evident in her giving, gentle, and loving spirit. She will truly be missed by her family.
Survivors include her son, Raymundo J. Gonzalez Jr. and his wife Maria E. Gonzalez both of Odessa; her daughter, Maricella Reyes of San Antonio; 7 grandchildren, Abigail Sakalys, Ray Gonzalez III, Hilda L. Bustillos, Daniel J. Gonzalez, Jessica Hernandez, Melissa Reyes, and Analisa Reyes; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
