Carole (June) Lanning Staggs was born on July 31,1947 to Van Lewis & Jimmy Hazel Lanning in Reed Oklahoma.
Carole meet her first true love when she gave birth to her daughter Leslie on February 24,1976. Carole and her daughter was always together not only was they mother and daughter they were best friends!!!!
Carole moved to Crane in the late 70’s she started cooking at The Handy Spot anyone that knew her knew she was amazing cook! You know how the saying goes the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach because that’s how she meet the love of her life Anthony (Tony) Staggs she was cooking one night at the Handy Spot and that’s where it all began the new life for her and her daughter! Carole and Anthony was married on June 27,1979 together they raised 4 daughters Dolly, Toni, Kathy, Leslie.
Carole was employed at My Friends Grill for over 20 years as one of the main cooks until she started getting sick and had to retire. Carole loved going to the casino with her daughter and sisters and brothers she especially enjoyed going to Oklahoma every summer for a month to spend time with her sister Bendy and going to different casinos. Carole loved her family she enjoyed spending time with all of them especially her kids and grandkids.
Carole is survived by her Daughters Leslie and her husband Freddy Garcia, Kathy and her husband Cat Ortiz, Dolly Staggs, Toni Staggs and her bonus daughter Lisa Gutierrez and husband Richie all of Crane. Her brother Tommy Lanning and his wife Darlene of Crane and brother Freddie Lanning of Crane.
She is also survived by 13 Grandchildren Brittany, Junella, Savannah, Diego, Lexi, Jayla, Belinda, Thomas, Chelsea, Micheal, Crissy, Melissa, and Brandon; and 25 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Staggs, parents Van Lewis and Jimmy Hazel Lanning, sisters Maryneil & Bendy; her brothers Eugene & Wendell.
She fought long battles with her Parkinson’s and her Alzheimer’s disease and all her stomach problems, we will miss her every single day but we know she is with Jesus in paradise and free of all her diseases and pain!
Very special thank you to My husband and kids and to Home Hospice for all their help towards the end of my mom’s life God bless y’all. I Love and will miss you forever Mom. (I Love You Jackass)
