CARL E. BAKER, Sr.
BIG LAKE: Carl E. Baker, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 15, 2009.
He was born on June 30, 1929 in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was a longtime resident of Iraan, Texas, living there for 52 years. Carl was a Veteran and had served in the Navy.
He worked for Plymoth Oil Company until Marathon Oil Company bought them out. He was employed for 35 years retiring in 1986. Carl was a member of the First Baptist Church in Iraan, Texas. He has been a resident of the Reagan County Care Center for three and half years.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Baker; sisters, Sue, Virginia, and Juanita; one brother, Frank; and his parents, William and Addie Mae Baker.
Carl is survived by his son Carl Baker, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Big Lake; his grandson Trey Baker and Lynn Jackson of Denton, Texas; his daughter Mary Warwick of Granite Shoals, Texas; and grandsons Ricky, Tony, and Chris. He is also survived by a brother, Bob Baker and his wife Mae of McCamey, Texas; and sisters Billie Cannon of Lawton, Oklahoma, Helen Colona of Roanoke, Virginia, and Margaret Valdez of Atascadero, California; and many nieces and nephews; and special sister-in-law Lillie Holland of Iraan, Texas.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the Glen Rest Cemetery in Big Lake with Reverend Gerald Bastin officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the First Baptist Church Music Ministry, P.O. Box 459, Big Lake, Texas 76932.
