Bobby Ray Hollander, 79 of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the Buena Vida Nursing Home in Odessa.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Crescent Park Church of Christ in Odessa with Preacher Dale Garrison officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of Crane.
Mr. Hollander was born on November 5, 1931 in Cisco, Texas. He was a Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He married Clarice Wahnelle Smith on October 8, 1955 in Odessa. Mr. Hollander was a resident of Odessa since 1958. He was a supervisor for Shell Oil Company and retired after 40 years of service. He loved to play golf and was a member of the Odessa Country Club. Mr. Hollander was a faithful member of the Crescent Park Church of Christ where he was the song leader. He was a devoted husband, father, and church leader.
He is survived by his wife, Clarice Wahnelle Hollander of Odessa; his children, Dr. Bobby Mal Hollander and his wife Renee of Odessa, Kimberly Jane Hollander Huet and her husband Michael of Cedar Creek, TX, and Bruce Hollander and his wife Melinda of Louisville, Kentucky; five sisters, Lucille Ulrich, Edith Harris and Shirley Grantland all of Victoria, Connie Birmingham and Cathey Story both of Houston; three brothers, A.J. Hollander of Indio, CA, Earl Hollander of Hallettsville, TX, and Eddie Hollander of Yoakum, TX; six grandchildren, Marisa Baker, Krystel Fleming, Jessica Stubblefield, Allyson Huet, Landon Hollander, and Blythe Hollander; and three great grandchildren, Ethan Stubblefield, Corben Baker, and Levi Fleming.
