Betty Gates, 78, of Crane, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City.
Funeral services were held at 3pm on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel in Crane with Minister Tommy Parker officiating. Burial followed in the Crane County Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
Betty was born on November 20, 1934 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny in 2000.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Kelly and her husband Mike of Denver City, Judy Wilson and her husband Jimmie of Odessa, and Debbie Mann of Yuma, Arizona; a brother, Lester Bates and his wife Karen of Crane; two sisters, Brenda Shaffer and her husband Jim, and Sharon Richardson and her husband Bill, all of Crane; 7 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
