Bertha Lee Williams was born to Erma Lee Brown and Thurman Williams in Wharton County Texas, on February 5, 1938.
She attended school in Brackettville and Ozona, Texas. She was raised by her grandparents Olevia and Charlie Brown.
Bert accepted Christ at an early age. She held many jobs (babysitter, laundry mat, in home care and housekeeper) until her health failed her in 2003.
She relocated to California in 2006, where she resided with her Aunt Stella and her cousin Marla. She enjoyed going to Inglewood Daycare Center, she especially looked forward to the parties. Everyone in the nursing home loved her.
She enjoyed music, especially the blues and gospel. She loved to dance and sing.
Bert was a woman that spoke her mind. (A Brown Trait!)
Her favorite saying was, âI am pretty, I wear pretty clothes, I drive a pretty car and I smell good.â She was a beautiful woman.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her grandparents, uncles, aunts, and other relatives. She leaves to cherish her memory her only aunt, Stella Brown of Los Angeles, CA; a host of cousins and friends.
She will be truly missed.
