Barbara Armstrong Woody

October 7, 1954 - July 1, 2023

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, Barbara was able to rest at ease as she entered a greater place for eternal peace. Barbara had been a resident of Crane for the past 30 years.

Barbara began her earthly journey on October 7, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Bessie and Eugene Armstrong. Being the daughter of a Naval Corpman, her early years took her around the world, including places such as Japan and Key West, Florida. The family came to a rest in Bessemer City, North Carolina.

While in high school, Barbara met the man she would eventually marry, Stanley Woody. The couple married on May 30, 1974. They remained together until Stan's passing on December 4, 2020.

Barbara and Stan welcomed their first daughter, Robyn, in 1977. Their second daughter, Andrea, joined in 1980.

Barbara and Stan moved the family to Odessa, Texas in 1983. The family settled in Crane in 1993. Barbara worked as a substitute teacher for Ector County ISD for several years until beginning her career with Medical Center Hospital. After retirement, she began substituting for Crane ISD.

Proceeding Barbara were her parents, her loving husband, and infant granddaughter, Tyra. Left on this Earth to cherish Barbara's memory are daughters, Robyn (Frank) Scott of Sweetwater, and Andrea (Chad) Potter of Crane. There are also Barbara's beloved grandchildren; Abigail, Rowan, and Jack; as well as Barbara's brother, Michael, of Bessemer City, North Carolina, and numerous other extended family members.

A memorial celebration is pending at this time and will be announced at a later time.
