Anita Dominguez Carrasco, 87, of Crane, Texas, was born February 4, 1937, in Imperial, Texas. Anita went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, surrounded by family that loved her.
Anita had many names that she answered to – Mom, Mother, LoLa, Chula, Granny, and Anna. Even though she didn’t have a job, she worked full time caring for and loving her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family was everything to her.
Anita was preceded in death by her sons, Julio “Bear” Carrasco and Michael Anthony Carrasco; granddaughter Jennifer Haley Tavarez; great granddaughter Hayden Hope Rangel; parents Emilio and Anita Dominguez; brothers Carlos Dominguez, Raymond Dominguez, Dario Dominguez, Miguel “Mike” Dominguez, and Johnny Dominguez.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Julio Carrasco of Crane; two daughters, Elsie Campos and husband Kino, and Mary Romeiser and husband Tim, all of Crane; sisters Manuela Tovar of Crane, Mary Rey and Nirma Mayben of Mertzon, TX, and Minnie Dominguez of Odessa, TX; brothers Emilio Dominguez Jr. and wife Naya of Odessa, Nemorio “Nemo” Dominguez and wife Jessie of Andrews, TX, Willie Dominguez and wife Annie of Midland, TX; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rosary will be said on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 7pm at the Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church at 11am. Burial will follow in the Crane County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Woodfin, Marcos Rodriguez, Casey Campos, Lalo Gutierrez, Alfonso Lomeli, Vic McWilliams, Justin Carrasco, and Albert Cardona.
